Sharon Omens has a deep passion for music. She is a music educator and composer who believes music can empower you. After receiving her Bachelors of Music and Certificate of Music Therapy, she devoted more than 30 years training young musicians and using music as a source of healing with those in need. She has been a spiritual performer of both voice and piano and continues to be very committed to sharing the benefits of music with others.

Sharon Omens is a music educator and composer who believes music can empower you. With more than 30 years of experience training young musicians, a background in music therapy and even more time performing both voice and piano she knows what she's talking about. Ms. Omens takes care to craft music that will educate, inspire and encourage listeners to participate through actions or by singing along.

Ms. Omens received a Bachelor’s Degree of Music (piano performance) at Immaculate Heart College in Hollywood, California and Certificate of Music Therapy from California State University Long Beach. She has produced five albums: “Moments In Time”, “Peaceful”, “Prayers”, “Follow The Music” and her new album "Color Wheel".

Over the past 30 years, Sharon Omens has performed as a pianist/ vocalist and has established herself as a music educator for children privately and in public schools. She received her Bachelor’s Degree of Music (piano performance) at Immaculate Heart College in Hollywood, California and Certificate of Music Therapy from California State University Long Beach and spent many years sharing music with special needs children and adults. “Follow The Music” demonstrates Sharon’s vast experience as a musician and her passion to educate and empower children through music.

Over the past 30 years, Sharon Omens has performed as a pianist and vocalist, has been a music therapist for people with special needs, taught music in schools and privately and has been committed to helping and empowering others through music.

Sharon Omens is a highly gifted and experienced musician. She began playing the piano at a very young age. Her strong passion for music grew over the years and she made a decision to make music her career. She was first educated at Immaculate Heart College (on full music scholarship) and received her Bachelors Degree in Music. As an accomplished pianist, she realized that she needed to do more than just performing music. She needed to share it with others on a deeper level. She knew that music had always given her so much strength and she wanted others to benefit from what she had received. At that point she decided to go back to school and received her Certificate of Music Therapy in 1984.

In the privacy of her home, Sharon has played improvisational piano music as a form of meditation and expression. After much encouragement from those close to her, she decided to write down and record some of these meditations which express the love and tenderness inside her.

Sharon Omens has created lovely melodic themes that are not only peaceful but often mysterious and moody. Her instrumentation perfectly suits the melodies. Read more... Teacher
