I wrote a duet for violin and piano called 'Whimsical Rhapsody'. This charming one movement piece has highly contrasting moods, color and tonality. Sometimes there is high drama and at other times there is humor.
When writing this piece, one of my goals was to use motifs from the classical period and color these familiar themes with dissonant undertones to create a whimsical air.
'Whimsical Rhapsody' has been performed at Timucua Arts Foundation and the Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts.
